We went to WA for a few weeks over Christmas and New Years... weeks of sunshine, dry heat, beaches and sunsets. I ate a lot of seafood and swam every day.
We rented a campervan and took it down the coast, visiting friends and wineries. We slept in the back and cooked on a gas stove. It was the most rustic thing I had done for a while. By the end of the trip everything was covered in a fine orange dust...


I had to swim constantly just to feel slightly clean. And I got used to wearing the same thing everyday and no makeup. It was really liberating, just wandering along in a veeeery slow van looking for campsites and counting the miles until the next petrol station. A completely different kind of holiday for G and I. And I loved it.

When we got back to Melbourne it rained. And was cold.

I can't seem to capture that summer feeling again...
